There two ways to install AceDSL®

Dry Loop

"Dry Loop" or "Stand Alone" DSL runs on copper lines that carry no dial tone. This method offers several advantages over conventional Line Shared DSL:

  • No Active Phone Service is Required
  • DSL is provisioned over clean copper lines that carry no dial tone. Customers are not required to maintain an active phone account with Verizon and are free to choose carriers, including ACE VoIP services.
  • Significantly Simplified Installation
  • Due to a faulty copper line a pair change may be required as a part of the installation process. During a Line Shared DSL installation, this causes dial-tone disruption. During a Dry Loop installation, customer service is not affected.
  • Significantly Simplified Wiring
  • Unlike with the line-share DSL, when the line carrying the DSL signal may have multiple jacks which require filters, Dry Loop DSL requires only one jack.
  • More Stable Connection
  • With Line Shared DSL, analog devices such as telephones, fax machines and credit card processors, may interfere with the DSL performance. Dry Loop DSL signal runs on a dedicated pair and is protected from such interference.
  • Less likely to be Disrupted due to Administrative Reasons
  • Line Shared DSL may be disconnected when a customer switches local phone service providers or has a billing dispute with the phone company. Without the underlying phone service account, Dry Loop service is immune from such disruptions.

Dry Loop AceDSL® installations take 5 - 7 business days from order to live.

The process consists of the following steps:

  • Customer places a request to qualify the service address by filling out the Service Request Form or by phone
  • If the location qualifies, we set up an Account
  • We place an order with the phone company to install a DSL circuit
  • Phone company technician installs DSL circuits on Customer Premises
  • We ship the ADSL Bridge and a self-installation kit
  • If necessary, a trouble ticket is opened with Verizon before the service is considered active
  • Order Dry Loop AceDSL®

Line Shared

"Line Shared" DSL runs on copper lines that also carry dial tone. DSL travels on higher frequencies and, when properly configured, does not interfere with, and is not affected by, the low-frequency dial-tone signal. Line Shared DSL offers several advantages of its own:

  • Fast Turnaround
  • On qualified lines, Line Shared DSL can be activated in as little as two business days.
  • Seamless Activation
  • Site access is almost never required since DSL is being turned up on an existing line – all the work is being done remotely.
  • Easily Convertible to Dry Loop
  • We can convert a Line Shared DSL to Dry Loop by porting the telephone number; thus, eliminating line charges without disrupting the DSL service.
Line Shared AceDSL® installations take 2 - 5 business days from order to live.

The process consists of the following steps:
  • Customer places a request to qualify the line by filling out the Service Request Form or by phone
  • If the location qualifies, we set up an Account
  • We place an order with the phone company to activate DSL on the line
  • On the day the Verizon reports the order as completed, we ship the ADSL Bridge and a self-installation kit
  • If necessary, a trouble ticket is opened with Verizon before the service is considered active
  • Order Line Shared AceDSL®
