W32.Beagle email worm announcement

Announced: 03/16/2004

As many of you already know, another very dangerous email worm has been launched on the Internet. The worm is pretending to be sent from technical support, email management system or other role accounts within ISP causing a lot of confusion among the customers. We would like to emphasize that these messages are not sent by us. This is a self-propagating worm that is trying to look like it was sent from your ISP by spoofing sender's email address to one of common role accounts at your ISP domain, such as support@acedsl.com. All these messages contain attachments with virus body. Please DO NOT open these attachments. If you do, your computer would be infected and you would inadvertently participate in the virus propagation. Also, please note that the virus opens a backdoor that allows to control your computer remotely. Please update and run your antivirus software ASAP. More information on this virus can be found here: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.beagle.m@mm.html Also you can use the worm removal tool freely available from Symantec that can be found here: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.beagle.m@mm.removal.tool.html Regards, AceDSL Support
